Jeannette M. Whitmarsh, 66, of Chemung, NY passed away on Thursday, January 08, 2015 at Robert Packer Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on July 4, 1948 in Sayre, PA the daughter of Donald and Gladys M. Morningstar Palmer. Jeannette’s passion was her horses and animals. She was a member of Matty Corral/Honest Horse Thieves, Appaloosa Horse Club, and Arabian Horse Club. Jeannette was a member of the Sons of Italy, Sayre. She is predeceased by her father Donald Palmer, an infant sister, and stepson Thomas J. Whitmarsh. Jeannette is survived by her husband of 44 years Charles J. Whitmarsh at home, mother Gladys M. Palmer of Vestal, NY, mother-in-law Mildred C. Whitmarsh of Spencer, NY, step-children Karen and Jerry Gentile of Spencer, NY, Tonia and James Ebel of Newfield, NY, and Michael Whitmarsh and Joshua Leach of Candor, NY, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister Luanne Palmer of Sayre, PA, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dave and Cynthia Whitmarsh of MI, and Robert and Carrie Whitmarsh of Oswego, NY, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the spring. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, PA at the convenience of the family.
