Obituary of Robert L. Talada

Robert “Bob” Talada, 55, of Waverly, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at home with his loving family by his side after losing his brave battle with lung cancer. He was born on January 9, 1960 in Sayre, PA the son of the Albert, Sr. and Lillian VanDuzer Talada. Bob is survived by his wife of 13 years Tina Beidleman Talada at home, sons Nathan and Aaron of Waverly, NY, mother Lillian Talada Stroud of Sayre, PA, brothers and sisters-in-law Butch and Kathy Talada of Elmira, NY, and William and Judy Talada of Waverly, NY, sisters and brothers-in-law Linda and John Smith of Candor, NY, Carrie and Tim Stroker of Milan, PA, Patricia and Mike Vanderpool of Windham Center, PA, sister Rose Lawson of Troy, PA, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Brent and Carol Beidleman of Athens, PA, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Sherry and Donald Sylvia of DelRay Beach, FL and Judy and Bill VanRiper of Kutztown, PA, several aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, .and cousins. He is also survived by his faithful companion Boots and his best friend Russ Wittig of Waverly, NY. He is preceded in death by his father Albert Talada, Sr. in 1993, sister Tina in 1963, father-in-law Nathan Beidleman in 1993, mother-in-law Phyllis Haxton Beidleman in 2004, brothers-in-law Robert Lawson in 2007 and Nathan Beidleman, Jr. in 2011. Bob graduated from Northeast Bradford High School in 1977. After graduation, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country with pride in the South Pacific for 4 years. He was employed by several companies more recently including I.B.M., Binghamton, State Line Auto, Waverly, and Best Western, Sayre. Bob was a member of the Lighthouse Church, Sayre. Bob was a collector of antiques, coins, and baseball cards. He enjoyed watching sports, his favorites included football “Go Steelers”, baseball, and auto racing. Bob faithfully watched the TV Land station, enjoying Andy Griffith, Leave It to Beaver, I Love Lucy, and all the old time shows. He enjoyed fishing with his boys, telling stories particularly of his Navy days, and spending time with his dog Boots. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1pm at the Sayre V.F.W. Post #1536, 932 W. Lockhart Street, Sayre, PA with the Rev. Ed Reichman officiating. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Flowers will be provided by the family, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s memory to: Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA 18810. After expenses have been paid, any donations will be forwarded to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
