Barbara Lombard, 80, of Athens, PA passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. She was born on September 28, 1934 in Medford, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary McGann Buckley. In her early years, Barbara worked for Corning Inc. in Bradford, PA and then was employed by the Athens Area School District, until her retirement in 1999. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Barbara enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Athens and St. James Church, Waverly. She is predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Phillip F. Lombard, grandchildren Matthew, Jacob, and Peter Lombard, and Joanne Cox. Barbara is survived by her children Paula and Christopher Wehner and their children Robert, Kathryn, Daniel, and their children Cailyn, Westen, and Ava of Grand Junction, CO, Michael and Lisa Lombard and their child Alexander of Bear Creek, PA, Phillip C. and Meg Lombard and their children Nicholas and Maria of Shavertown, PA, Patricia and David Pelachick and their children Bryan, Andrea, and Jeffrey of Sayre, PA, and Mary and David Aselin and their children Julia and Nathan of Philadelphia, PA/Chemung, NY, brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Kathy Buckley of MA, sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and Harold Slonina of FL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 10am-12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1pm at St. James Catholic Church, 503 Clark Street, Waverly, NY with the Rev. Brian Carpenter from St. James Church officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to: American Diabetes Association, P.O.
