Samuel E. Krause, Sr. 79, of Athens, PA passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 with his family by his side; following an extended illness. He was born on December 9, 1935 in Binghamton, NY the son of the late Frank and Ethel Strange Krause. Sam loved woodworking; he made cups, bowls and furniture. He could fix anything. Sam was an avid animal lover and was especially fond of his Yorkshire Terrier “Molly”. He retired from Elmira Stamping and served in the US Army as part of the Airborne Division. Sam’s pride and joy was his John Deere Tractor. He is predeceased by his parents and his wife Mary Kathryn Harbst and his sister Eleanor Krause. He is survived by his children Robin and Les Stranger of Athens, PA, Kathy and Bob Sluyter of Towanda, PA, Samuel E. Krause, Jr. of Sayre, PA, Sandy and Jeff Quinn of Waverly, NY, David Krause and Angie Zimmer of Athens, PA and Eleanor Krause of Athens, PA; Grandchildren Kelly Ann Jerome and Mark Wolfanger, Kim and Scott Delozier, Karen and Andy Shipman, Jennifer Stranger, Jason Sluyter and Shelley Fortin, Jeremy and Tara Sluyter, Justin Sluyter, Doug and Crystal Quinn, Jamie Quinn, Stacy and the late Collin Kenyon, Christy and Dr. Michael Williams, Michelle, Danielle and Jasmine Krause and David R. Krause; great grandchildren Nathaniel and Isabella Delozier, Lynden Shipman, Rylee, Reese, and Kaylen Sluyter, Nathan and Braden Quinn, Jordyn and Tristin Quinn, Grayson Williams, Quinn Kenyon, and Finley Krause; and a special friend Ronnie and Lois Seymour.
