Jeanette E. Dill Foster, 79, of Athens, PA passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Athens Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Athens. She was born on November 28, 1935 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Otto A. and Nina May Birney Jacobs. Jeanette was a 1954 graduate of Athens High School. She then attended Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, graduating with a Nursing Degree in May of 1957. She was a General Duty Registered Nurse employed with Episcopal Hospital from 1957-1959 in Philadelphia and Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre from 1959-1961. From 1961-1964, she was the Night Nursing Supervisor at Doctor's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. In 1964, Jeanette was employed with Tioga General Hospital in Waverly, NY as a General Duty Registered Nurse until her retirement in 1968. She was a lifetime member of the Athens United Methodist Church and past President of Athens Wesleyan Class at Athens United Methodist Church. She served on the Board of Trustees and the Wills and Memorials Committee. Jeanette volunteered with the Red Cross for over 10 years with the Bloodmobile. She was the past President of the Athens Ladies Library Club. She was a member of Waverly Senior Citizens, Valley LaTeeDa's Red Hat Society, Order of the Eastern Star #498, and Athens American Legion Post #246 Auxiliary. Jeanette enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She is predeceased by her first husband Earl K. Dill, second husband John P. Foster, and step-father Edward E. Joachim. Jeanette is survived by her beloved companion Phillip Bailey of Athens, PA, step-daughter Carol Foster of Marathon, NY, stepson Philip Foster and his wife Evelyn of Elmira, NY, step-grandchildren Barbara Sinsheimer and Linda Ortiz and their families, dear friend Paulette Fry of Marathon, NY, cousins James and Elizabeth Birney of Waverly, NY, James and Maureen Birney of Waverly, NY and Tim and Kim Birney of South Waverly, PA, and friends Florence Waizenegger of Hegins, PA and Charlotte Cook of Elmira, NY. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 12pm to 1pm at the Athens United Methodist Church, 118 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the church at 1pm with the Rev. Andrew Weidner officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
