Robert A. “Bob” Walker, 79, of Waverly, NY went home to be with the Lord on April 5, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 18, 1936 in Waverly, NY the son of the late Edward L. and Beatrice Ball Walker. Bob especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Bob was a Veteran of the US Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. Bob worked as a plumber prior to becoming a dedicated salesman who earned top honors. He loved watching sports and was a big NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. Bob was an avid fisherman and he also enjoyed gardening and taking care of his lawn. He was a member of the Chemung Christian Fellowship. He is predeceased by his infant son and sister Myra Chaffee. Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years Sandra Scaife Walker, children Denise and Mario Cortez of Atlanta, GA, Robin DeMarco of Waverly, NY, Wesley and Maureen Walker of Waverly, NY, and Les and Phyllis Walker of Lockwood, NY, grandchildren Angela Tabor, Sarah and Jason Braunbeck, Dustin and Caitlin Root, Robert “Bobby” and Amanda Nichols, Brandon and Jessica Walker, Logan Walker, Emily Walker, Molly Walker, and Tyler Walker, great-grandchildren Jack, Gracie, Abigail, Isabella, Lily, Christian, and Cyrus, mother-in-law Mary Jane Scaife of Orangeburg, SC, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Friday, April, 10, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at 7pm at the funeral home with Rev. Randy Stilson of Chemung Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery, Nichols, NY.
