Emma C. Robbins, 98, of Elizabethtown, PA, formerly of Athens, PA passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at home with her family by her side. She was born on January 2, 1917 in Athens Twp., the daughter of the late John and Emma Hallberg Chambers. Emma graduated from Sayre High School in 1934. She was employed in the cafeteria of Athens Area High School for 19 years, retiring in 1979. She formed many lasting friendships during her time at the school, including the students that she interacted with during lunch periods. Emma chose to move to Elizabethtown in 2009 to be with her grandson and near family. She enjoyed spending her summer vacations at the family cottage in Fair Haven, NY with her family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Harold G. Robbins, daughter Diane Robbins Martin, brothers Jim Chambers and Lyle Chambers, sisters Mildred Smith, Clara Chambers, Grace Chambers, Gladys Inscho, and Gertrude Spaulding, nieces Jean Foster, Betty Homan, and Susan Mahoney, and nephews James R. Chambers and Robert Inscho. Emma is survived by her grandson Blake R. and Dianna Martin of Elizabethtown, PA, great-granddaughter Molly Lee Martin, great-great-granddaughter Jaylen Flanagan, son-in-law Paul E. Martin, nieces Betty Evans and Nancy Linehan. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 11am – 12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at 12pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Glenn Mahaffey officiating.
