Eleanor E. Shay, 93, of Sayre, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre following a brief illness. She was born on February 1, 1922 in Johnson City, NY the daughter of the late Jesse and Blanche Wintermute Miller. Eleanor was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, a member of the American Legion where she served as President, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an avid reader. She is predeceased by her husband Donald R. Shay, granddaughter Leslie Reeser and sister Emma Miller. Eleanor is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Virginia and Larry Reeser of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren Erin and Paul Wigger, great-grandson Bronson Wigger, brother and sister-in-law Leslie and Mary Miller, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11am at the Church of the Redeemer, 201 South Wilbur Avenue, Sayre, PA with the Rev. Glenn Mahaffey officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Ft. Indiantown, PA.
