Laura H. Sharp, 86, of Sayre, PA passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center, Athens following a period of declining health. She was born on August 10, 1928 in Sheshequin Twp., PA the daughter of the late Bradford and Viola Vernon Ellis. Laura worked at Robert Packer Hospital as a Nurses' Aide for 23 years, retiring in 1994. She loved to work on cross stitching and needlework. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Sharp in 2006, sisters Flora Benjamin and Virginia God, brother Arthur Ellis, and step-daughter Lydia Stonifer. Laura is survived by her children Glenn C, Jr. and Cheryl Hunsinger of Sayre, PA, and Duane Hunsinger of Rome, PA, grandchildren Justin Hunsinger of Towanda, PA, Carrie Carman of Rome, PA, Nicole Adamcikof TX, Emily Rought of Athens, PA, Jessica Stone of Troy, PA, Johnica Hunsinger of Towanda, PA, and Julianna Hunsinger of Towanda, PA, step-children Lee and Louise Sharp of GA, Lester and Reba Sharp of Manheim, PA, Martha and James Sites, step-son-in-law David Stonifer, 7 step-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews,and cousins. Friends and family may call on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 10am-12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 12pm with the Rev. James Donahoo officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, PA.
