Hilda L. Springer, 95, of Sayre, PA passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on June 17, 1920 in Rochester, NY the daughter of the late Earl B. and Margaret Muir Wolcott. Hilda worked for Dr. Guthrie and Emily Guthrie as a housemaid for several years. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking, and baking. Hilda also enjoyed watching old musicals. She is predeceased by her husband William K. Springer, daughter Sandra Joyce, son Robert Bruce, and son-in-law Donald Murray. Hilda is survived by her children Nancy D. Murray of Sebastian, FL, Sally D. and Frank M. Evans of Sayre, PA, and Cathy D. and David R. Whipple of Athens, PA, grandchildren Jody Murray, Kelly and Bob Edwards, Donald Murray, Patrick Murray and (Angela Guffey), Amy Evans and her spouse Lori Rothermel, David R. and Kari Palmer Whipple, Stacey Whipple and Lyle Garrity, great-grandchildren Desiree and Sam May, Shannon Giordano, Chelsea Murray, Robert Edwards, Olivia Murray, Meghan Whipple, Kyle Whipple, Dylan Whipple, Damon Whipple, special great-granddaughter Olyviah Lylah Ray "Toots", Olivia Edwards "Pickles", Samantha Giordano, and Mia Palmer, sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Leonard Shay of Sayre, PA, and brother and sister-in-law Larry and Jean Wolcott of Edgewood, MD. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 2pm at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA at the convenience of the family.
