Harry A. Field., a longtime resident of Sayre, PA, died this week at his home in Fountain Valley, CA, at the age of 101. Although he moved from the Valley upon his retirement in 1980, Harry always considered Sayre to be his home. Harry, son of the late Lewis E. and Rachel Schrimp Field, spent his working life employed at the Lehigh Valley Railroad, American LaFrance, and the Ingersoll Rand. He is predeceased by his wife, Marie Lawes Field, and his brothers, Marshall and George Field. During his retirement, Harry took up golf, joined the ELKS organization in Huntington Beach, and was very involved in the lives of his three granddaughters. Harry’s love and wisdom guided his family and he will be profoundly missed by his son Allen, his daughter-in-law Shirley, his granddaughters Amy, Jennifer and Katie, and his great-grandchildren Eva and Cooper. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11am at the Church of the Redeemer, 201 S. Wilbur Ave., Sayre, with the Rev. Glenn Mahaffey officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
