Obituary of Catherine M. Wolcott

Catherine Fish Wolcott, 72, of Sayre, PA passed away at home after a brief illness on Saturday August 1, 2015. Catherine, who liked to be called Cathy, was born in Sayre, PA on September 12, 1942 to Glenn Fish Sr. and Loretta Wildrick Fish. She graduated from Athens High School in 1960 and received her degree in elementary education from Bloomsburg University and her Master's in Education from Elmira College. Cathy taught in various schools in the Sayre School District until her retirement. She married Richard Howard Wolcott September 10, 1973. At one time they owned and ran the Hofbrau in Sayre. Cathy was a devoted wife, aunt, cousin and step-mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and Glenn Fish, Jr. and sister-in-law Sally Fish. She is survived by her husband Richard Howard Wolcott of Sayre, Pa, a niece Kay Lynn Fish Luchaco, and her daughter Courtney (Don) Cullis and children Austin and Erin. Also surviving are nephew Halton (Cathy) Fish and their daughters: Stacey (Richard) Macik and children Hayleigh and Caydence; Kelly (Fisher) Welles and children Matthias and Lauryn also Danielle (Jared) Bailey and daughter Lorelai. Also surviving are cousins Kay Wildrick Friedlander, Francine Wildrick, Andrew and Alan Solock, Barbara Solock Novajosky, and Cathy (Neal) Halstead. Step-children who survive are Tracey Wolcott, Rochelle (Dennis) Sherwood and daughter Hannah and Richard Earl (Bambi) Wolcott. We cannot forget her one surviving beloved dog Ringo. A Memorial Service will be held Friday August 7th at the First Church of God, 416 N. Keystone Ave. Sayre, PA at 11 AM. A light luncheon will be served after the service. Arrangements are being handled by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. in Athens. A private burial will be at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA at the family's convienence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Cathy's name to the Sayre First Church of God, 416 N. Keystone Ave., Sayre, PA 18840, humane society, library or any other organization of one's choice.
