Richard “Dick” H. Curtis, 73, of Lockwood, NY passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 surrounded by his family. Dick was born on September 5, 1942 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Harold and Winifred Mosier Curtis. He ran The Country Shop for many years where he sold and repaired small engines. Dick worked for NYS DOT for 35 years. He enjoyed family outings, turkey hunting and making his own turkey calls. He was a founding member and lifetime member of the Lockwood Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the North Waverly Chapel. Dick is predeceased by his parents and a twin sister Roberta Curtis, 2008. He is survived by his wife Shirley of 51 years at home, children David and Judy Curtis of Lockwood, NY, Don and Robin Curtis of Owego, NY, Diane and Buz Horne of Henderson, NV and Brian Curtis and Craig Wilkinson of Chemung, NY; daughter in law Ellen Curtis of Big Flats, NY; grandchildren Joanne and Robert Stoddard, Ashley Curtis, Miranda Curtis, Wynndham Curtis, Clayton Curtis, Zackary Baker, Lynzy Baker, Dakota Curtis, Brock Horne and William Horne; great grandchildren Alyssa, Rebecca and Ethan Stoddard; along with a large extended family. Friends and family may call Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 6-8:00pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA 18810. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. William Wells and Rev. Matt Mackivitch co-officiating. Burial will be in the Lockwood Cemetery, Lockwood, NY. Following the burial a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5pm at the Lockwood Fire Company, 34 Main Street, Lockwood, NY.
