Obituary of Veva Diane Johnson
Veva Diane Johnson (Hooper), age 73, of Sayre, PA passed away peacefully on February 10, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Veva is survived by her husband of 58 years Donald Edward Johnson, her 6 children Kimberly Johnson of Sayre, PA, Donald (Patricia) Johnson of Sayre, PA, Thomas (Lorrie) Johnson of Sayre, PA, Timothy Johnson of Sayre, PA, Lindon (Yvonne) Johnson of Sayre, PA, and Susan (Charlie) Fulmer of Waverly, NY, grandchildren Michelle Stirewalt, Aaron Forrest, Douglas (Heather) Perry, Cassie (Nate) Mosier, Michael Griffin, Casey Griffin, Andrew Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Jr., Janelle Johnson, Travis Johnson, Jennifer (Joseph) Loudenslager, Jason Fulmer and Jessica Bates, as well as her brother Edward (Sharon) Hooper of Colorado Springs, CO, her sister Alice Peterpaul of Orlando, FL, along with 23 great-grandchilden, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Diane Marie Johnson, parents Donald Hooper and Veva Hooper, brother Carlyle Hooper, father-in-law Raymond Johnson, mother-in-law Lorraine Towner, and brother-in-law Hank Peterpaul.
Veva loved gardening, cooking, going to the casino and spending every day with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life she was always caring and giving. She and her husband have raised two of their grandchildren Doug, and Casey, their special needs granddaughter. Veva would help anyone at any time, her door was always open and she was a mother to all who entered her home.
Family and friends may call on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 11am – 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with the Rev. Robert Flatt officiating.
Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
