Fred J. Bohlayer III "Buddy", 51, of Ulster, PA went to be with the Lord in the arms of an angel on Sunday, January 22, 2012 surrounded by his family at Robert Packer Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on May 12, 1960 in Waverly, NY the son of Fred, Jr. and JoAnn Whipple Bohlayer. Buddy was a member of the First Church of God and he really enjoyed going to church. He loved his dog Cocoa and his blue Ford tractor. Buddy was well-known for his smile. He enjoyed music, collecting pens and watches. Buddy enjoyed picnics and traveling. He is predeceased by his nephew Robby Slingerland, his maternal grandparents Ora and Hilda Whipple, paternal grandparents Fred Bohlayer, Sr., Hazel Wittig and Amos Wittig. Fred is survived by his mother and father at home, siblings Lori (Frank) Bohlayer McGrath and Cindy (Ronny) Slingerland, numerous aunts and uncles, nephew Shane McGrath, niece Julie Slingerland, and several cousins. Friends and family may call Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 1pm-2pm at the First Church of God, 416 N. Keystone Ave., Sayre, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Church at 2pm with the Rev. Dewey Jeffrey officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Buddy’s memory to the: First Church of God, 416 N. Keystone Ave., Sayre, PA 18840.
