Obituary of Laurence Henry

Laurence E. Henry, 81, of Athens, PA, passed away July 27, 2011 at Ashton Healthcare Facility, Athens, PA. He was born June 3, 1930 in Sayre, PA the son of the late James and Mabel Lattimer Henry. Laurence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home he worked for 28 years at the IR Athens Foundry, upon retiring he worked part-time at the Dandy Mini Mart as a maintenance person. He is predeceased by an infant son, brother Edgar Henry, aunts Gladys Butters and Josephine Donahue, and aunt and uncle Ina and Pat Frisbie. Laurence is survived by his wife of 56 years Patricia "Pat" at home, son David M. Henry of Athens, PA, grandchildren Ryan Henry of Athens, PA, Sheri (Fran) Green of Sayre, PA, and Kelly Henry of Yorkville, NY, great-grandchildren Dalton Henry, Aidan Johnson, Dustyn Henry, and Kyndra Green, sister Suzanne Dixon of Athens Twp., PA, sister-in-law Betty Lattimer, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on July 31, 2011 from 2-4pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will be held on August 1, 2011 at the Pilgrim Holiness Church, 701 South Wilbur Ave., Sayre, PA with the Rev. John Musser officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Laurence’s memory to: Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA 18810 to help offset the cost of the funeral expenses.
