John K. Minard, 71, of Sayre, PA passed away very peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2016 at home. He was born on April 22, 1944 in Sayre, PA, the son of James, Jr. and Helen McCraney Minard. John loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed being outdoors on the Chemung River in his boat and woodworking. He retired as a Journeyman Roofer. John was a very loyal and honest friend. He would always help out anyone who needed help, no matter if he knew them or not. He is predeceased by his father James Minard, Jr. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy at home, children Rick (Becky) Minard of Athens Twp., PA and Kathy Minard (Mike Bentley) of Athens Twp., PA, grandchildren Payta Bentley, Logan Minard, and Thea Bentley, mother Helen Minard of Athens, PA and sister Lois Boney of Mainesburg, PA.. At the request of family there will be no calling hours or services at this time. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
