Carol A. Kleckner, 85, of Sayre, PA passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. She was born on July 22, 1930 in Muncy, PA, the daughter of the late Fred and Lillian McBride Taylor. Carol was a volunteer at the Robert Packer Hospital for over 40 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Carol especially loved being with her grandchildren and always attended their sporting events. She enjoyed bowling and golfing with the ladies at Tomasso’s and served on leagues at both. She also liked cross stitching and travelling. She is predeceased by her husband Marlin Kleckner, and brothers Charles Taylor and Bobby Taylor. Carol is survived by her daughter Gloria Leavenworth of Milan, PA and son and daughter-in-law Barry and Cynthia Kleckner of McKinney, TX, grandchildren Chris Leavenworth and his fiancé Sarah Maulorico of Allentown, PA, Kevin and Jessica Leavenworth of York, PA, Lisa Leavenworth of State College, PA, Brian Kleckner of Tyler, TX, and Neil Kleckner of Denton, TX, great-grandsons Eli and Cooper Leavenworth of York, PA, sister and brother-in-law Betty Jean and Phil Kift of Williamsport, PA, sister-in-law Patty Taylor of Muncy, PA, and special nieces and nephews and their families Philip Kift, Sharon Hayes, Joan Sloyer, Debra Taylor, and Donna Schuman. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 12pm – 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
