Obituary of Robert E. Perry
The Rev. Robert E. "Bob" Perry, 80, of Candor, NY, formerly of Athens, PA went home to be with His Lord on Thursday, April 28, 2016 with his family by his side at the Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on July 9, 1935 in Athens, PA, the son of the late William Isaac and Minnie Belle (Jackson) Perry.
Bob was devoted to his faith and his family. He loved going out to eat with his wife, Loretta, every Friday night. He loved going for coffee at McDonalds with his nephews, Ted and Tom Perry. Bob also enjoyed doing projects with his friend and handyman Aaron Wood. He was truly fond of his "shopping" families at Price Chopper and the Salvation Army. Bob was fortunate over the years to have met so many wonderful people through his evangelism work. He enjoyed stopping by and visiting with his friend, Verda Morris. Bob was immensely proud of his "favorite" and only grandson, Dustin. His daily trips to Athens to have coffee with his girls and to bring a banana to his "grandpuppy" Dex will be sorely missed.
He is predeceased by his first wife Charlotte L. Perry, brothers Charles, John, Theodore, Norman, Lawrence, and Paul, and sisters Mae, Lorraine, and Erva.
Robert is survived by his wife of 20 years Loretta at home, his two daughters Penelope Perry of Athens, PA and Pamela Hunt of Athens, PA, grandson Dustin R. Ackley and his fiancé Bobbie Brignola, step-children Lee Webster of Cortland, NY, Wanda Gravenor of Salisbury, MD, Bruce Webster of Salisbury, MD, Dianne Wooters of Eden, MD, Lisa Marshall of Geneva, NY, and Stephen Webster of Seneca Falls, NY, 20 step-grandchildren, 18 step-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law and his wife Dan and Julie Chilson of Friendsville, PA, numerous nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
At Bob's request there will be no services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA at the convenience of the family.
