Obituary of Lucinda L. Brown

Lucinda L. Brown, 53, of Chemung, NY passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Robert Packer Hospital following her courageous fight against cancer. She was born on July 23, 1962 in Waverly, NY the daughter of Donald and Della Hutchinson Scudder. Lucinda attended Mansfield University, School of X-Ray. She worked at the Ithaca Hospital and the Robert Packer Hospital. She then decided to be a stay at home mom to take care of her children. After the Flood of 2011, Lucinda became the face of the Valley Relief Council with her friend, Joel Clawson. She was instrumental in the establishment of the program and her continued dedication to the organization and the people of the Valley area to be sure they could get back into their homes. During the flood, Lucinda oversaw donations of items into the shelter and the disbursement of them to the families in need. Whenever someone had a need, Lucinda was at the forefront to be sure that it was taken care of in a timely manner. She attended all of the fund raisers for many organizations and took on many speaking engagements to remind people that even though the flood was over there was still many families that needed assistance. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Lucinda was an advocate for animals and loved spoiling her beloved, Sophia. She enjoyed collecting Raggedy Ann dolls.
