David D. “Dave” Burkett, 73, of Athens Twp., PA passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre following a brief illness. He was born on January 25, 1943 in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Melvin and Myrtle (Kellogg) Burkett. Dave worked the family farm all of his life. He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors on his farm. David is survived by his many close friends. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. At David’s request there will no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA at the convenience of the family.
