Thomas E. Harbst, Sr., 82, of Sayre, PA passed away on Sunday July 10, 2016 at home. He was born on April 12, 1934 in LeRaysville, PA the son of the late Paul, sr. and Marie Baggerly Harbst. Thomas was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He worked at the IR Foundry and the Iroquois Foundry. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Skiff-Bower Post #1536 and American Legion Post #246. He is predeceased by his wife Marcella Harbst, sons Steven Harbst and Thomas E. Harbst, Jr., and sisters Alice May, Kate, Marion, and Jean. Thomas is survived by his children Cindy Harbst of OK, Valerie and Dave Moniz-Spiegel of Nichols, NY, and Christ Harbst of Myrtle Beach, SC, grandchildren Amanda Harbst of TX, Andrew Harbst of TX, and Marcella Moniz and Emily Moniz, siblings Paul, Dan, Jim, Joe, Charles, John, Nancy, and Peg Ann, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
