Joyce A. Blair, 81, of Athens, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Sayre Health Care Center following a period of declining health. She was born on February 21, 1935, in Athens, PA the daughter of the late George H. and Helen M. Kellogg Corneby. Joyce attended the bible studies and church services at the Chemung View and Sayre Health Care Center. She enjoyed playing bingo and scratch off tickets. Joyce maintained her independence until last year. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She loved and was loved by her friends and family, whom will greatly miss her. Joyce was an avid Bible reader. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Stanley Corneby and Keith Corneby, and sisters Evelyn Corneby Culver, Geraldine Corneby Nichols, Phyllis Corneby Merritt and Grace Corneby Catlin. Joyce is survived by her children Dennis Blair of Corning, NY, Gregory Blair of Horseheads, NY and Scott and Marilyn Blair McGuiness of Rotonda West, FL; grandchildren Sean, Jessica and Anthony Blair and Brittany and Nicholas Spencer; great grandchildren Alana Blair and Adriana and Maddex Presher; a special niece Sheila Harbst, several nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends Mary and Jim Harbst. Friends and family may call on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 1-2pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2pm with Rev. Linda Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
