Janice A. Farr, 69, of Sayre, PA, passed away at Wilkes-Bare General Hospital on Sunday, August 14, 2016 following a brief illness. She was born on August 30, 1946 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Walter and Charlotte (McDonald) Keegan. Janice worked at the Tom Weaver Insurance Company as a Secretary before retiring. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved her pets, her cat Smokie and her dog Kellie. Janice loved traveling with her husband, Tom and family to Myrtle Beach, SC, and Boston. She enjoyed taking day trips to Cayuga Lake and World's End. Janice and Tom enjoyed going to Roc and Doc's on Wednesday nights for Trivia night. She enjoyed playing computer games, and watching the old time TV and game shows. She loved spending time tending to her vegetable garden and just being outside, especially in the evenings, sitting on her back porch doing her crossword puzzles, watching TV, and just relaxing. Janice is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years Thomas at home, children Bryan Farr and James Gaydos of Chester, MA, siblings and their spouses Connie and Jerry Young of NC, John and Terri Keegan of LeRaysville, PA, Charlie and Deanna Keegan of OK, Rita and George Cori of Warren Center, PA, and Dick and Linda Keegan of NC, nieces Maureen, Staci, Cami, Keri, Mindy, Megan, Brandi, Hollie, and Amanda, nephew Charlie, and several great-nieces, great-nephews,cousins, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Maureen Farr and their children David and Daniel Farr, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Lee Berrettini and their children Leslie, Christopher, and Michael. Friends and family may call on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 6pm – 8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremations Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 9:30am at the Church of the Epiphany, 304 South Elmer Avenue, Sayre, PA with the Rev. Michael Drevitch officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
