Robert C. Keir, 79, formerly of Rome, PA passed away on Friday, October 1, 2016 Bob was born on July 15, 1937 in Waverly, NY the son of late Robert and Irma Smith Keir. He was a graduate of North East Bradford High School and was employed with the Lehigh Valley Railroad and Conrail as an Inspector/Foreman; retiring in 1993 after 32 years of service. Robert enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also was an avid hunter and loved playing horseshoes. Bob is predeceased by his parents, Grandson and Spouse Clifton, Jr. and Sarah Heasley. He is survived by his children Eric Keir of Sayre, PA, Penny Twigg of Owego, NY, Jeannie and Walter French of Litchfield, PA, Kim and Mark Forrest of Ulster, PA and Bobbi and John Myers of Spencer, NY; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and sister Billie Reed of Nichols, NY. Friends and family may call Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA from 11am to 1pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. James Donahoo officiating. Burial will be in the South Litchfield Cemetery, South Litchfield, PA.
