Benjamin D. Hibbard, 89, of Milan, PA, passed away at the home of his son on Friday, November 18, 2016 following an extended illness. He was born in Wysox, PA, the son of the late Cheric Mason and Gladys Rogers Hibbard. Benjamin worked at the Hanlin Saw Mill in Athens and he also enjoyed helping on the Charlie Harris Farm. He worked at Pages Block Yard, Max Cohen, drove truck for Continental Transport. He enjoyed mowing yards and being outdoors. Benjamin was an avid sportsman and enjoyed woodworking. He is predeceased by his wife Freda Hibbard in 2015, sons Rodney Hibbard and Donald Garey, sisters Peg Northrup, Alice Bortle, Bernice Hibbard, and Marylin Davis, and brother Rexford Hibbard. Benjamin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Bernard and Lori Hibbard of Athens, PA, daughter Wanda Maxwell and fiancé Gary Wood of Milan, PA, grandchildren Michael Hooper, Kristen and Andy Pardoe, Jason, Stacey and Danielle Garey, Scott, Justin and Jamie Hibbard, Mason and Ariel Hibbard, great-grandchildren Isabella Freda, Della Rose, Trevor, Brandon and Jaelyn Garey, Dustin Brady, Kadin, Kendrick, Kamren and Deonna Garey, Tristin and Braxton Hibbard, Bohdi and Lillian Hibbard, Dylan Byrd, Jo, Toki, and Coty Labrum, and Cloverlyn Hibbard. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Ann and Jim Roy of Gillett, PA, and sisters Bonnie Brown of Athens, PA and Beryl Simons of Allentown, PA. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev. Linda L. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA
