Mattie I. Miller, 82, of Sayre, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Sayre Health Care Facility. She was born on January 5, 1930 in Ellistown, NY the daughter of the late Cecil A. and Mildred A. Kennedy Higley. Mattie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to crochet and do crafting of all kinds. She is predeceased by her husband David and brother Thomas Higley. Mattie is survived by her children David and Juan Miller of Berlin, NJ, Mary and Jack Morgan of West Creek, NJ, George and Diane Miller of Sayre, PA, Charles Miller of FL, Daniel Miller of Tampa, FL, Ann and Linus Robinson of Lowman, NY, Tammy and Kevin Brown of Milan, PA, and Brian and Kelly Miller of Sheshequin, PA, 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, sister Mary Martin of Elmira, NY and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 1pm – 4pm at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11am at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Vincent Langan officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
