Patti Simmons, 81, of Sayre, PA passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA unexpectedly. She was born on August 24, 1935 in Ithaca, NY the daughter of the late Donald M. (Sr.) and Helen Frost Simmons. She graduated from Centenary Business College in Hackettstown, NJ. Patti worked for RCA in Maryland and moved on to work for the President and CEO of Smith and Corona on Park Avenue in New York City. After 15 years of employment Patti retired and returned to the Valley to be with her father and twin brother. Patti had a big and kind heart and was very generous. She was passionate about her animals. She was an avid reader and shopper and also enjoyed flowers and her gardening. She loved sports, her coy fish and riding horses. Patti appreciated all who stood by her throughout her years and supported her. She is predeceased by her parents. Patti is survived by her twin brother Don Simmons, of Sayre, PA and currently of Florida and many special friends who will miss her dearly. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 3-5pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5pm at the funeral home with Rev. Sharon D. Lowery officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Patti’s memory to one of the local animal shelters.
