Obituary of Richard W. Moore
Richard W. “Dick” Moore, 89, of Sayre, PA passed away Friday, December 9, 2016.
He was born on June 9, 1927 in Croyle Township, PA, the son of the late George T. and Mary M. Wagner Moore.
Dick was a wonderful husband and father. He served in the US Army during WWII and Korea. He was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dick loved doing crossword puzzles, reading, and was always interested in learning about history. He retired after 34 years from IBM as a manager in Space Engineering; starting in Poughkeepsie, NY and later transferring to Owego, NY. He enjoyed working outside in his yard and he took great pride in his home and family.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers George and Edward, and granddaughters Amber Dawn Lary and Krystal Brooke Wallace.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Shirley at home; children Kendra Lary of Middleton, OH, Richard II and Mary Moore of Indianapolis, IN, Karol Moore of South Waverly, PA, Stephen and Susan Moore of East Athens, PA, and Karen and Earl Guinter of Crawfordville, IN; grandchildren Trey, Erin, Kendra, Ricky, Robert, Kourtney, Katelyn, Michael, Elizabeth, and Emily; 2 great grandchildren; siblings Margaret Werfer, Faye Mendick, Jane Cooney and John Moore; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Richard’s request, there will be no calling hours and a Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
