Cleora M. “Cleo” Sarisky, age 102, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Sayre Healthcare Center. She was born October 14, 1914 to Sallie and Charles Henninger in Shamokin, PA the youngest of 7 children. She was predeceased by her husband John Sarisky in July of 1962. Cleo was employed for many years by W.T. Grant Company. She led a full and active life concentrating on her family and family activities. She enjoyed reading and playing bingo and cards with her friends at her apartment complex. She is survived by her four daughters Barbara (Allie) Babcock of Athens, PA, Mary Sarisky of Athens, PA, Joan (Clifford) Bowen of Warminster, PA, and Carol (Leon) Thorp of Sayre, PA; seven grandchildren Debra Madigan of Waverly, NY, Cindy Shaffer of Sayre, PA, Michael Babcock of Land O’ Lakes, FL, John Bowen of Brookhaven, PA, Suzanne Vincent of Center Valley, PA, Todd Bowen of New York City, and Karen Fritz of Newfield, NY; 8 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends and Family may call on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 6-8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. Linda Rogers officiating. Burial will be held in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
