Jacqueline L. Ward-Washburn, 93, of Athens, PA passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Robert Packer Hospital. She was born on December 2, 1923 in Athens, PA the daughter of the late Frank and Susan French. Jacqueline worked for many years between Tioga General and Robert Packer Hospital as a Surgical Nurse. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Endless Mountain Quilting Club. Sher also enjoyed researching her genealogy. She is predeceased by her first husband Carlton Ward in 1996, daughter Sharon Smith and sisters Helen, Eva, and Mae. She is survived by her husband of 17 years Fred Washburn, children Susan Zulkosky of Paris, ON, Pamela Washburn of Painted Post, NY, Carla Smith of Corning, NY, and Michael Ward of Chemung, NY, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. At the family’s request, there will be no calling hours. The funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
