Maegan N. Blackman, 32, of Sayre, PA, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 01, 2017 following her brave fight against cancer. She was born on December 31, 1984 in Sayre, PA the daughter of John, Sr. and Tammy (Ervin) Blackman. Maegan attended Sayre High School, graduating in 2003. While in high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Cheerleading Squad. Continuing her education, Maegan attended Mansfield University, obtaining her Master's Degree in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Robert Packer Hospital in the OB Department in Labor and Delivery, until her illness forced her to take a leave. During her time at the hospital, she was awarded the Daisy Award for excellence in patient care. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her pride and joy, her son Mason. Maegan enjoyed doing all kinds of arts and crafts. She loved the Disney movies and characters, especially the Princesses. She was an avid fan of Sleeping Beauty, creating many projects and collecting the figurines. She is predeceased by her infant brother Little One in 1985, brother Nathan Blackman in 1991, sister Amanda Blackman in 1992, paternal grandparents Harry and Betty Blackman, maternal grandfather William L. Ervin, Sr., aunt Debbie Blackman, and uncle Mike Doane. Maegan is survived by her beloved son, Mason Koval at home, parents John, Sr. and Tammy Blackman of Sayre, PA, sister and brother-in-law Alisha and Joshua Cady of Sayre, PA, brother John Blackman, Jr. of Sayre, PA, maternal grandmother Beverly Ervin of Milan, PA, maternal aunts Bonnie (Craig) Alderman of Athens, PA, and Robin Ervin of Sayre, PA, maternal uncles William (Debbie) Ervin of Ulster, PA, Mike Ervin of Milan, PA, Allen (Barb) Ervin of Milan, PA, and Jim (Laurie) Ervin of Athens, PA, paternal uncles Butch (Cindy) Blackman of Lockwood, NY, Jerry (Viv) Blackman of Sayre, PA, Harry (Sue) Blackman of Sayre, PA, and George Blackman of Athens, PA, paternal aunt Eva Doane of Sayre, PA, nephew Jaxon Ray Cady of Sayre, PA and numerous cousins. She also is survived by the father of her child Eric Koval of Rome, PA, and she will be missed by her many friends and all those who knew and loved her. Family and friends may call on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 12 pm-2pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 2pm with the Rev. Jim Donahoo officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
