Elizabeth "Jean" E. Bowman, 81, of Waverly, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Elderwood at Waverly. She was born on November 13, 1935 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Mark and Hazel (Johnson) Harris. Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. In her early years, she liked hunting and fishing. Prior to retiring, Jean was employed with the Robert Packer Hospital in the Housekeeping Department. She was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward Bowman, Sr., son, Bobby Bowman, grandsons, Neil Learn and Levi Atchison, sister, Arlene Wheeler, and brother, Robert Harris. Jean is survived by children, Ed and Terri Bowman of Lockwood, NY, Sherry and Randy Learn of Waverly, NY, Bonnie and Gary Sinsabaugh of Waverly, NY, Mark and Kim Bowman of Waverly, NY, John and Michelle Bowman of Lockwood, NY, and Laurie Shipman of Waverly, NY, grandchildren, Edward and Merranda Bowman, Adam and Donna Woodward, Lance Bowman, Deanna Bowman, Hillmont Talada, Nicole Talada, Cassandra Bowman, Logan Bowman, Amanda Bowman, Tyler Bowman, Patrick and Bailey Bowman, Derek Bowman, Sabrina Bowman, Joshua Bowman, Kevin Shipman, Jr., Cody Shipman, and Valerie Atchison, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters, Helen Wackley, Pearl Strange, and Mary Smith, sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ron Geiger, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 12pm-2pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
