Frances "Fran" L. Johnson, 94, of Sayre, PA went home to be with her Lord, with her family by her side on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Sayre Personal Care Home. She was born on January 11, 1923 in Athens, PA, the daughter of the late Lewis and Hazel (Skinner) Cole. Fran was a graduate of Athens High School. She worked at Morse Chain, retiring in 1985. Fran was a faithful member of the North Waverly Chapel, and a devout Christian. She was a member of the Sayre Senior Citizens Club. She is predeceased by her son, Orlando K. Johnson, sisters, Carrie Cole Tribe and Mary O'Connell, and brothers, Kenneth Cole, Arthur Cole, and Charles Nichols, and step-mother Lura Cole. Frances is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie (Richard) Decatur, her son, Gary Johnson and friend Don Fisher, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ida (Charles) Arnold and Madeline (Barry) Nothstein, brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer (Toni) Cole, Aubrey (Anna) Cole, Lyle (Karen) Cole, brother, Keith Cole, sisters-in-law Martha Cole and Pat Cole, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 12pm-2pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2pm with the Rev. William Wells officiating. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery, Nichols, NY at the convenience of the family.
