Obituary of James E. Allen

James E. "Jim" Allen, Sr., 78, of Ridgebury, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre following an extended illness.

He was born on June 15, 1938 in Corning, NY, the son of the late Joseph J. and Marcella A. (Hannel) Allen.

Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. Jim was the Owner of Gene's Auto Supply for 35 years. He was a Veteran of the US Army. He served for 2 years as a Supervisor for Ridgebury Township. Jim loved to hunt, fish, and cut wood.

He is predeceased by his sister, Ellen Hathaway.

James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mina, at home, son James E. Allen, Jr. of Ridgebury, PA, daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Edward Owen of Ridgebury, PA, Barb and Jerry Koser of Ridgebury, PA, and Brenda and William Plouse of Ridgebury, PA, granddaughter raised by Jim and Mina, Roxanne Mays, 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may call on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 1pm-2pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2pm with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

Burial will be in Bentley Creek Cemetery, Bentley Creek, PA.
