I caddy for Feddie many times back in the day. Was always looking forward to cadding for him. The one golf moment I remember was at tioga country club. I was playing match play and knowing him I knew his best club was the 5 wood. It was hole 18 where I crushed a drive and I had 90 yards in. I look back and see Freddie 200 yds back pulling out his 5 wood. I said to myself, this is not good. Whack. I watch it bounce just in front of me hopping a few times to the green then rolling to within 2 ft of the hole. Will always remember that shot. Love ya Freddie!!

Ann so very sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. I was just asking my brothers about him a few months ago. He always kept Mom's spirits up with his visits while she was in the nursing home. Sending prayers your way.

Growing up on our street would not have been complete without the added influence and comments graciously donated by one Fred Martin. A quick wit and a friendly smile were always at the ready. To Butch, Ann Marie and the whole Martin clan go my most sincere thoughts and prayers. You were all a big part of the village to raise a child theme. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Martin for being the guardians on the east end of the block. May you find everlasting peace together. Craig

Who is going to give me putting lessons now, who will show me what is wrong with my swing, who will stand on the first tee with me now and tell me of all the stories of the valley and the players who have since gone away? Freddie could spot my mistakes from far away and would come over and spend the time teaching me about golf and life itself. Freddie would stand on the first tee and tell me of how the valley looked from there before the trees grew tall. Oh the stories he would tell. I always looked forward to seeing him there on the first tee just to give him time to share his experiences with me. He always asked how my boys were doing. His stories will never be forgotten, nor will his never ending smile. Thank God he gave us Ann. The valley has truly lost a historian, a friend, and a perfect gentleman. I will miss you Freddie.

Ann, Butch and family we are very sorry to hear of Freddy's passing, he will always be remembered by us for so many good things. Road trips with Dusty and Bortzy to basketball games, more good golf tips to all of the kids and his pleasant smile.
He was always good to me as a young kid and I will always thank him for that.
I wish I could be there for you today but know you are in my thoughts and prayers, God Bless you and Freddy RIP.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr Martin's passing. What a wonderful man he was. To Ann and Butch I cannot put into words how much of an impact your dad had on me growing up on Broad Ave. So many wonderful memories. No one can ever say that he didn't live a full and blessed life. RIP my friend.
