Wayne Allen McMichael, 77, of East Smithfield, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Sayre Health Care Center, Sayre, PA. He was born on May 30, 1939 in Strawberry Ridge, PA, the son of the late William and Ruth (St. Clair) McMichael. Wayne was a Retired Veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1957-1961 and the Navy Seabee Reserves from 1983-1999. Wayne served as the Vice President and Branch Manager of Northern Central Bank, prior to his retirement. In 1982, he was the founder of the Faithful Companions Pet Cemetery in East Smithfield. Wayne was a member of the Sayre ELKS, the Troy American Legion Post #49, and was a member of the United Methodist Church. He is predeceased by his wife, Connie and fiancé Sherry Zehr. Wayne is survived by his son, Todd McMichael of NJ, son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Debbie McMichael of Binghamton, NY, grandchildren, Molly, Katelyn, Ryan, Erin, and Eric, sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Mike Zenzel of Bloomsburg, PA, brother and sister-in-law Larry and Mary Lou McMichael of Danville, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Faithful Companions Pet Cemetery in East Smithfield, PA with Military Honors accorded.
