Gary R. Wood, 66, of Milan, PA passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1951 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Robert S. and Janice (Hawthorne) Wood. Gary served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Sperry Rail and other railroad companies for 40 years. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Gary also enjoyed gun building. He is predeceased by his father who raised him Joe Hiley. Gary is survived by his fiancé of 10 years, Wanda Maxwell at home, children, Jason Wood of Canada and Jon and Cheryl Rumpff of Symsonia, KY, his mother who raised him, Doris Hiley, siblings, Phil and Paula Wood of O'Fallon, IL, Lynne O'Brien of Waverly, NY, Nancy and Jan Beck of Duncannon, PA, Laurie Gleockner of Sayre, PA, Ed Hiley and Rose Garrity of Athens, PA, Joe and MaryLou Hiley of Athens, PA, and Lisa and Kevin Englebert of Nichols, NY, aunt, Margaret Wood of Sayre, PA and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 4pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA.
