Obituary of Thomas Stirrat

Thomas Stirrat, 81, of Athens, PA passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at home.

He was born on February 23, 1936 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Thomas and Lillian (Tudor) Stirrat.

Thomas was a proud US Navy Veteran. He worked for Tioga General Hospital, was the Owner of Ward Furniture, and retired from Bob's Honda in Sayre. He enjoyed Lawn Bowling, representing the US on a National level for serveral years and alley bowling. He was an avid gardener.

He is predeceased by his great-grandson, Carter Lackey, uncle, Edward Badali, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Genevieve (Curry) and Gustave Blackley, brothers-in-law, Elliot Coan and Ronald Kinner, and nephews, John Coan and Randy Kinner.

Thomas is survived by a his beloved wife of 59 years, Joyce (Blackley) Stirrat at home, sister Susan Coan of Palmdale, CA, children, Thomas B. Stirrat of Athens, PA, Jackie Ferger and Brian Seymour of Athens, PA, and Jenny and Mark Davidovich of Athens, PA, grandchildren, Christianna and Wes Moore, Anastasia Stirrat, Emily Pica, Timothy Ferger, Tracy and David Onofre, Brittany and James Lackey, Cody and Amanda Baggerly, Carlie Simpson, and Brock Bezick, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 he was looking forward to meeting. He also survived by his aunt, Cecilia Badiali of Lewiston, NY, sisters-in-law Ginger Kinner, Arlene (James) Cole, Linda (Dave) Norton, and Gussie (Steve) Levering, nieces and nephews, Amber Martin, Kate Coan, Niki (Jacob) Roepel, Scott (Michelle) Smith, Stephanie Smith, Scott Smith, Jr., Patricia (Ravi) Chopra, Rhonda Kinner, Robin (Mike) Pane, Ronica (Stanley) Sobiach, Lori (Bob) Meridith, Tammy Kinner, Renee (Randy) Rosenberger, Andrea (Rich) Rose, Matthew (Christina) Norton, Aaron (Brooke) Norton, Steven (Stacy) Levering, Sarah (Rob) Conety, Mike Bauman, and Jamie Levering, and numerous cousins.

At Thomas' request, there will be private family services at a future date. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
