Ronnie Ennis

Obituary of Ronnie K. Ennis

Ronnie K. “Cannonball” Ennis, 58, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA on July 22, 2017 following a brief illness.

Ronnie was born on August 4, 1958 in Waverly, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Shirley (Miller) Ennis.

Ronnie was employed for years with the Iroquois Foundry in Waverly, prior to his health preventing him from working. He was a Veteran of the US Army. His real love was spending time with his family and friends, whether it was holiday meals, picnics, or just hanging out together. He was well known for his practical jokes and teasing all those around him relentlessly. He was a man that would do anything for anyone, at any time, no matter the circumstances. He loved tending to his vegetable garden and his yard, and helping any of his neighbors that needed assistance with theirs. He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite drivers were the Earnhardt’s. He enjoyed watching football, Star Trek, and Mash, but most of all he loved channel surfing when his grandchildren would get interested in a show. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Because his grandson was involved in Boy Scouts, Ronnie took an interest and became a part of helping wherever he could. Ronnie was a member of the JE Wheelock Hose Company, Sayre, PA.

Ronnie is predeceased by his brothers, Anthony and Michael Ennis, sister Sharma Jean Ennis, and father-in-law, Bernard “Bernie” Evans.

Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Debra Evans Ennis at home, children, Jessica Evans and Christopher House of Sayre, PA, Mitchell Evans and Theresa Talada of Athens, PA, grandchildren, Jazmin, Dylan, Noah, Abregella, Jayden, and Jeremiah. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Diane Ennis, sisters, Cathy Robinson and Loribeth Porter, brother Timm Ennis, mother-in-law Emma Evans of Athens, PA, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Brian Wood of Athens, Pa, brothers-in-law, Mike Evans of Athens, PA and Jimmy Evans of Athens, PA, aunt and uncle, Helen and Jim McCloe of Waverly, NY, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many, many close friends. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
