Obituary of Alice M. Potter

Alice M. (McCracken) Potter, 100, of Carnegie, PA, formerly of Sayre, PA, passed away with her loved ones at her side on Sunday, August 06, 2017, at her daughter’s home.

She was born November 03, 1916, in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the John C. and Letha B. (Morley) McCracken.

Alice was a lifetime member of the Church of the Redeemer in Sayre.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, John L. Potter, in 1989; her sisters, Nellie (McCracken) Blackman and Elsie (Gorsline) Lincoln; and her son-in-law Lee Davis.

Alice is survived by her son John M. (Nancy) Potter, of Charleston, S.C.; her daughters, Constance Davis of Carnegie, PA, Rebecca (James) Harlin, of Poulsbo, WA, Marcia (Daniel) Scanlin, of Sayre; and, her grandchildren, Douglas (Nell) Potter of Johannesburg, South Africa, Deborah (Michael) Mullens of Goose Creek, SC, Amy (Douglas) Albright, of Bainbridge Island, WA, Brenton (Krystal) Davis, of Groton, MA, Matthew (Jenna) Scanlin, of State College, PA, and, Kaitlin (John) Scanlin Vandendreissche, of Annapolis, MD; great-grandchildren Collin Potter; Brandon, Parker and Logan Mullens; Zachary and Elizabeth Albright; and Hailey Furcolo and Gavin Davis; and her loving relatives Mona, Scott, Vicki and Cooper Lincoln.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Redeemer, 201 South Wilbur Ave., Sayre, PA at 10 a.m., September 08, 2017, with the Rev. Hazel Hunt officiating.

Burial will be private at the Church of the Redeemer Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sayre Public Library or Church of the Redeemer.
