Obituary of Frank Park

Frank Park, 91, of Waverly, NY, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 with his loved ones by his side at Elderwood in Waverly.

He was born on August 22, 1926 in Athens, PA, the son of the late Harry and Belle (Madigan) Park.

Frank was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII, attaining the rank of Corporal. Upon returning from the war, he was employed with Remington Rand, Elmira, and retired from Food and Drug Research. He married the former Lela Rose Marbaker in 1950 and they recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. Frank had a love for horse-pulls and hunting. For years, he was an avid hunter. A lifelong resident of the Valley area, Frank enjoyed attending any sporting event at all the local schools, until his health prevented him from continuing.

He was predeceased by his twin brother, Fred, brothers Walter, Harry, Wilbur, Robert, Richard, and James, sisters, Ida, Julia, Ruth, and June. 

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lela Park, his twin brothers wife, sister-in-law, Joyce Park, and many, many special nieces and nephews that will miss their Uncle Frank. 

Friends and family may call on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 2pm-3pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

Burial will be in Chemung Cemetery at a future date.
