Manley Kellogg

Obituary of Manley B. Kellogg

Manley B. Kellogg, 86, of Athens, PA, passed away peacefully at home on August 27th after a gradual decline in health. He was the son of the late Curtis and Mabel Kellogg. Manley was born on April 14, 1931 in Sayre, PA. He graduated from Athens High School in 1949 and held many jobs afterwards, most recently retiring from the Ingersoll Rand. On March 22, 1952, he married Lois Bradley, who predeceased him on April 23, 1998. Manley was a man of many talents that he picked up while growing up on his family farm in Ridgebury Township. His knowledge of construction led him to build his home nearby his parents where he and Lois raised their four children. He was always there with a helping hand whenever any family member was doing a construction project. He took pride in his ability to make quality tools for the Ingersoll Rand and was well known for having a good work ethic. In addition to his full-time job, Manley also ran a small farm where he raised cattle that became known as his pets. He enjoyed hunting with his son Charlie and doing caning on antique chairs in his spare time. He liked watching college and pro football as well as women's college softball on TV. Manley was always known for being a kind and gentle man who had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him. In addition to the passing of Lois, Manley is predeceased by parents, Curtis and Mabel (Smith) Kellogg and brother Ralph Kellogg. Manley is survived by his children Charles (Laura) Kellogg, Sharon (Dan) Hubbard, Carol (Jim) Hillman, and Trudy (Doug) Rogers. Manley is also survived by his grandchildren Michael (Izzy) Kellogg, Kyle (Jamie) Kellogg, Keith (Anna) Hubbard, Chris (Leah) Hubbard, Craig (Jami) Hubbard, Joe (Amy) Hubbard, Adam (Stephanie) Hillman, Megan Rogers, Cameron Rogers, special companion Leona Dunham, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous additional family members.
