Obituary of Patricia Yeomans
Patricia Ann Forrest Yeomans, 78, of Athens, PA, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2017, at the Robert Packer Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the wife of Glenn E. Yeomans, devoted husband and love of her life of 60 years.
Born on May 9, 1939, in Sayre, PA, Patricia was the daughter of Robert A. Forrest and Marguerite (Peg) Hennessey Forrest.
With her husband, she is survived by her four children, Gwynne Comstock and husband, Ed, of Sayre, PA; Connie Straccia and husband, Bill, of Allentown, PA; Teresa Lewis and husband, Stephen of Euless, TX; and David Yeomans and wife, Diana, of Allentown, PA; 10 grandchildren, Lauren Derrig (Dave), Jon Watkins; Danielle, Bill (Maggie, fiancée) and Laura Straccia; Stephanie Armstead (Waymon), Rachel and Melanie (Joe, fiancé) King; Devin and Drew Yeomans; and 5 great-grandchildren, Madison and David Derrig, Luke Watkins, Sophie King, and baby Armstead due to be born in May 2018.
She is also survived by her loving sister, Linda Pearson (Jim), sister-in-law, Shirley Dimmick, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Yeomans (Doris). She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her loving parents and grandson, Brad E. Watkins.
Pat graduated from SRU high school in 1957. After graduation, she worked at the Robert Packer Hospital, soon married her sweetheart and moved to Buffalo, NY, working for General Mills. They eventually returned to Athens to raise their children in their home of 55 years where much love was shared by her entire family.
Pat was known for her special love for children. She spent many years caring for young, pre-school children of friends and family members in her home. Pat devoted many endearing years caring for her parents. She had a special gift of giving of herself to all, including serving as a home health aide for North Penn Health and a volunteer caregiver at Elderwood Nursing Home.
Her hobbies included tending to her beautiful flower gardens, crocheting, sewing and cooking. An integral part of Pat's life was spending family time boating at the lakes and vacationing at the beach.
Calling hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, 225 S. Main St, Athens, PA 18810, and from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, October 5, with memorial service at 11:00 am. Burial will be at the Tioga Point Cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Paul Gerry Dialysis Center at Robert Packer Hospital, One Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA.
