Obituary of David Alan Callear

David Alan Callear, 57, of Athens, PA, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, October 2, 2017.

He was born on September 20, 1960 in Waverly, NY, the son of Donald A. and Phylis (Whipple) Callear.   

David attended Athens Area High School. He enjoyed watching football and baseball, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Yankees fan.  David was also a lover of NASCAR, his favorite driver being Terry Labonte. He loved “The Doors”, and other music of that era. His favorite book was the first biography written about, “The Doors”, lead singer, Jim Morrison, called “No One Here Gets Out Alive”, by Jerry Hopkins and Danny Sugarman. David also enjoyed camping and playing horseshoes.

He was predeceased by his sister Terri Donlin.

David is survived by his parents, Donald and Phylis Callear, children James Callear, Hashly Callear, and Craig Callear, grandchildren, Skyler Callear, Ashley Callear, and Hannah Callear, and brother Michael (Nancy) Callear, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may call on Sunday, October 8, 2017, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A memorial service will follow at 4:00pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
