Obituary of Mary A. Bostwick

Mary A. Bostwick, 80, of Athens Township, PA, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Sayre Personal Care Center following an extended illness.

She was born on August 7, 1937 in Athens Twp., PA, the daughter of the late Sidney and Jeannie Nichols.

Mary loved spending time with her family, especially hunting and fishing. She loved to play Bingo and visit the Casinos. She was very involved in the community and was a member of the Sons of Italy Roma Madre Lodge #1342. Almost every morning until her health declined, Mary could be seen having breakfast to Reese’s Restaurant in South Waverly or Chacona’s Restaurant in Sayre.

She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Gilbert, Sr., son Gilbert, Jr., and her missing daughter, Mary Lou, whom she always continued to search for every day, and sisters, Roberta Ellis, Shirley Talada.

Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin, Sr. and Lori Bostwick and Thomas and Lorrie Bostwick, daughter, and son-in-law, Carol and Jack Hagadorn, 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, sisters, Jeannie Cotton and Joan Wilson, and special sister-in-law, Linda Bostwick.

At Mary’s request, the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
