Obituary of Jeng Yul Gu, MD

Dr. Jeng Yul Gu, 81, of Sayre, PA, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, October 27, 2017.

He was born on January 19, 1936 in Busan, South Korea, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bong Chul Gu.

Jeng Yul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Dr. Jeng Yul was a Radiologist for the Guthrie Clinic for 34 years, retiring in 2012. Prior to beginning his career, he served in the South Korean Navy. Jeng Yul loved traveling the world with his wife, Un Soon, visiting Europe and many foreign countries over the years. He was an avid golfer.

Jeng Yul is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Un Soon, at home, son and daughter-in-law, James and Jung Won Gu of Briarcliff Manor, NY, daughter, Lillian Gu of Cliffside Park, NJ, granddaughter, Josephine, and grandson, Jameson Gu.

At Jeng Yul’s request, the family will hold a private memorial service. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
