Obituary of Joseph M. VanDyke

Joseph Michael Vandyke, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 3rd. He was born in Sayre, PA on April 16th, 1978 to his surviving mother Christina M. VanDyke.

Joseph, better known as "Joe" or "Joey" to friends and family, was an avid learner throughout his life picking up various trades. Joe was a multiskilled individual with many talents. He was a farmer, a mechanic, pavement crewman, salvager, and truck driver over the years. Joe was the first-born grandchild raised as a sibling with Julie, the last-born child of Larry and Judy VanDyke. In recent times, Joe enjoyed tinkering around in his garage and spending time with his family on the farm.

Joe is predeceased by his uncle, Jeffery VanDyke.

He is survived by his fiancé, Valerie Jerrell; his son, Tyler Vandyke and his girlfriend Jennifer, parents to his granddaughter Oaklyn. He is also survived by his daughters Kaitlyn, Hayleigh, Lana. Surviving are his Grandfather Larry Vandyke and his wife Debbie, Grandmother Judy Vandyke. Uncle Randy Vandyke and wife Sherrie, with their children; Ben and wife Shannon, Daniel, Levi, Joanna, Zeb, Rebecca, and Abby. Uncle Andrew Vandyke with son Dominic and girlfriend Jenn, oldest son Tim with his wife Maegan and two sons. Sister Julie with husband Roger "Joe" Hitchcock and children Sam, Ryan, and Emily. He is also survived by children of his predeceased uncle Jeffery; Jeffery and wife Brianne, with two daughters; Dustin and wife Caylin with four children, Jessica and husband Josh, and youngest, Cody. Joe was loved and cared for by many and will be missed dearly.

The family has decided to mourn in private.
