Obituary of Veronica R. Lydon
Veronica R. "Ronnie" Lydon, 93, of Waverly, NY, passed away with her loved ones by her side, on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at her home.
She was born on February 20, 1924 in Woodbridge, NJ, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kovacs) Uhouse.
Ronnie's passion and joy in life was her family. A stay at home mom, she loved raising her 8 children, and enjoying her time spent with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ronnie enjoyed cooking and always created dishes from her Hungarian heritage for her family. She liked reading, particularly cookbooks and learning all the different recipes. When she was raising her family, she always had a garden which she enjoyed working in with her children. Prior to her husband, John's, passing, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and visiting Ireland.
She is predeceased by her husband, John H. Lydon, Sr., son and daughter-in-law John H., Jr., and Joyce Lydon, great-grandson, Gavin Lydon, and brothers, Mike and Bill Uhouse.
Veronica is survived by her children, Tom and Sharon Lydon of Philadelphia, PA, Mike and Sue Lydon of Sayre, PA, Jim and Noreen Lydon of Strasburg, CO, Ann Marie Lydon of Sinking Springs, PA, Jean and Tim Cain of Olivia, NC, Pat and Jane Lydon of Allentown, PA, and Mary Lydon of Waverly, NY, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Victor and Carol Uhouse of CA, Donald and Alicia of NV, and David and Charlotte Uhouse of PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 8am-9am at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 9:30am at the Church of the Epiphany, 304 South Elmer Avenue, Sayre, PA.
Burial will follow at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Robert Packer Hospital, 6SW, and Lourdes Hospice staff for the wonderful care given to their loved one during her illness.
