Obituary of Anna Marie Price

Anna Marie (Gutgesell) Price, 58, of Waverly, NY, passed away with her beloved family by her side on Monday, December 4, 2017 following her courageous fight against cancer.

She was born on May 27, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Charles and Blanche (Phiefer) Gutgesell.

Anna was employed with Penn York Opportunities, Athens prior to her illness. First and fore-most Anna was a loving wife and mother who was very involved in her children’s lives. She loved attending her boys sporting events and any activities they participated in. Anna enjoyed camping and cooking, especially her famous Swedish meatballs. Anna always was helping anyone in need, at any time, no matter the circumstances. A woman who touched so many lives while on her journey here, she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is predeceased by her aunt, Lily Gutgesell, uncles, George Gutgesell and Bill Gutgesell, cousin, Howard Parent, and brother-in-law, Bob Schlaulch.

Anna is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Charles at home, sons, Thomas Price at home, and John Price at home, sister, Christine Schlaulch of Central Islip, NY, sister and brother-in-law Judy and Al Bitsky of Central Islip, NY, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Friends and family may call on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 11am-1pm and 5pm-7pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Valenti.

Memorial donations may be made in Anna’s memory to the: Waverly Central School District, Football and Basketball Programs, One Frederick Street, Waverly, NY 14892 to continue the sports that she loved to watch her sons play.
